In the new Dunkey video, he says he wants Metroid to try out non-linearity, and I love Dunkey but please christ or whatever might be listening, don't listen to Dunk. The entire reason Metroid's level design is so interesting and fun to break is because theres a thoughtful, well-crafted intended path. Yeah ok sure, you have a lot of options to break that path over your knee and do what you want, but its exciting because you're doing something you aren't really supposed to, or doing something out of order in Dread's case. Opening the game to be non-linear means every level has to be completeable with the earliest possible moveset, and now we run into the BOTW/TOTK problem. If the game can be done in any order, the game can't really become more complex. Good for a game with a strong, large starting toolset, not good for a Metroidvania all about starting small and getting more movement over time to unlock the puzzle box of a map you traverse.

Sylux looks so cool in Prime 4... now I'm divided. part of me hopes at least one more hunter returns, maybe Weavel? he's a Pirate, so he'd fit right into the established premise (plus he's my fave).

but on the other hand, i don't want too many characters in the story because. well, it's Metroid. so far it always works best with fewer characters.

maybe if there's a multiplayer mode, they could have other hunters exclusive to that? idk.

If Prime 4 really is going to be a launch title for the Switch 2 then it makes sense why they just put a year because if they said that then they'd revealing two things at once, the release for Switch 2 and MetPri4 so I'm not mad anymore. Let's go for a March release just like the Switch.

Yesterday Nintendo Direct was really great! I was not expecting A new Mario & Luigi RPG game! (So excited), Finally playing as Zelda in the new game!, I thought they were remaking Link to the past or the other Gameboy games at first?!

TBH they should've given Superstar DLC then make a new Mario Party, but it looks cool. The MvC collection was interesting, Got Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D release date and 1 and 2 is also getting remake was cool!

And finally after 7 years we got Metroid Prime 4: Beyond!! not a Metroid fan myself ("I did played Super Metroid years ago") this looks so awesome that I want to give the Metroid series another shot!

So yea this Nintendo direct was great!👍

The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

I knew the princess of Legend was just as impressive as her hero but now she gets her own little game! And I love that they're giving Zelda a completely different gameplay experience than Link.

I love seeing the different characters and monsters in this art style. Did you see that little Lizalfos!?! Did you see the 2 Zora designs! Everything looks so cute!!!

That little fairy Tri is obviously referencing the Triforce in some way but I find the Green tint on it suspicious… (never overlook the companion characters in Zelda)
